He’s back. Larry David and Curb Your Enthusiasm return next Sunday, October 1. It’s been six years since Season 8 ended, and the genius that is LD is rewarding us with a ninth season, not a moment too soon. I, however, didn’t get into Curb until long after it aired. So my wait has only been 2 years, but my excitement is through the roof. I could argue that I’m more excited than most because it’s fresher in my mind. I’ve gone on record saying it’s the funniest show I’ve ever watched, and I stand by that still today.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is funnier than The Office, Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, etc.
Larry David at his best is untouchable in my eyes. He’s cryptic as hell, self-deprecating, and unapologetic for it all. He’s definitely not for everyone, but if you understand his sense of humor, Curb is for you. As someone who takes issue with everyday minutiae, Larry David takes that to an unparalleled level. He’s misunderstood and doesn’t have any time for social cues that don’t make sense to him. For example…
My words can’t do his brilliance or this show’s brilliance any justice. And if you don’t think Larry David is worth your time, JB Smoove is most definitely worth the time. “Leon” could be the funniest character in television history, certainly for secondary characters. I can’t wait for next week. Here are some of my favorite scenes from the first eight seasons. Looking forward to adding to the list as Season 9 gets going.
