Terrible terrible news on this Tuesday night.  What the fuck man?  Why Big Black?  Take me instead.  Damn this is such sad news.  45 years old and leaving a 9-year old daughter behind, what a fucking tragedy.  BB was one of the good ones.  I had the PLEASURE of meeting him once at an autograph signing.  That’s right, I have Christopher “Big Black” Boykin’s autograph which I will cherish forever.  I owned and wore the classic BB t-shirt regularly.  But that’s obviously not important.

Rob & Big was an awesome TV show.  The friendship between Rob and Big was for sure a strange one but absolutely adorable.  Technically Big was Rob’s personal security guard, but that bond blossomed into something amazing.  Dyrdek just 5’7″ and Big Black at 6’6″.  But they were the best of friends, and I loved watching them and wishing I was a part of their crew.  I remember the time where Rob wanted to get Big onto a strict diet but they needed to get his starting weight.  Regular scales wouldn’t suffice so they had to go to a RECYCLING PLANT to find a sizable scale for Big Black.  Dude weighed like 420 lbs.  And who can forget him attempting the mini half pipe?

And the time when Rob set like 40 Guinness World Records and Big set a few of his own including most bananas pealed and eaten in one minute and most powdered donuts eaten in three minutes.  And his rap verse in Rob’s rap video under the alias Bobby Light.  And his family reunion.  I remember when the duo bought a net gun to evade intruders after someone took a shit in their pool.

Thanks for the laughs, big guy.  Especially the car wash jam sesh.  I don’t know why but that one will always stick with me.  Rob & Big definitely went unappreciated by most when it aired, and I hope it’ll find its way back to the MTV rotation so we can all reminisce.  Sad day, y’all.  This ain’t right.  One of the all time great big men.  RIP Big Black.
