CBSSports: According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Suh called out his defensive teammates this week and basically blamed them for the team’s defensive struggles. Suh even went as far to say that some of his teammates aren’t good enough to play with him. “I’m told [Suh] told them: ‘I run this defense, I’m going to be here for the next five years, there is no guarantee any of you will be as well. Only a handful of guys are good enough to play with me right now,'” Rapoport said, via NFL.com.
“He also said the schemes were not good enough, the techniques were not enough and everyone needed to be better,” Rapoport said. “He said ‘follow me.'”
It also doesn’t help that the addition of Suh hasn’t really made the Dolphins defense any better. Suh’s in the first season of a six-year, $114 million deal and the Dolphins defense has struggled this year, ranking 23rd overall in the NFL going into Week 12.
Greg Hardy is about as horrible as a person can be, there’s no doubt about that. But I could make the argument that Ndamukong Suh is a worst teammate to have. He is an incredible talent that has been overshadowed by his scumbag antics in Detroit and now his narcissistic egotistical attitude in South Beach. And I do want to make it a point that I am all for having “bad guys” on my team. I’m okay with having that reputation so long that those guys stay on the field and are effective and dominant. You need a few hot heads almost as much as you need solid veteran leadership to keep peace. They are integral parts to any complete team. But here’s the thing with Suh. He absolutely sucks right now, and so does his team. When you’re winning, you can talk shit. When you’re losing, you gotta take accountability.
Blaming teammates for your team’s struggles is the most cowardice thing I can think of. Nobody is going to want to play with ANYONE who won’t own up to their own faults and instead throw his teammates under the bus. A “me” guy is as cancerous to a locker room as is lack of talent. This is the same player who stomped on Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs (not his first offense). This is the same player who was ignoring play calls this season and doing whatever he wanted on defensive downs. And although this story isn’t confirmed, anyone who thinks this is anything but the truth knows nothing about who Suh is. Having the audacity to call out teammates like this says everything we already knew about Ndamukong Suh. And if he thinks anyone is hurting the defense and the team more than HIMSELF, he is quite possibly the most delusional person in the NFL.
If you ask Greg Hardy if he’s a good person, he will say no. Greg Hardy is well aware of who he is and straight up does not give a fuck. If you ask Jerry Jones if he truly believes Hardy is a good leader and if Brandon Weeden is a “gifted passer”, he will say yes BUT he knows that’s all bullshit and is just saying so as the face of the franchise. Jerry Jones damn well knows what kind of person Greg Hardy is and how terrible Brandon Weeden is. He also doesn’t give a fuck because he’s about C.R.E.A.M. But if you sit Ndamukong Suh down and ask him if he has helped or hurt this Dolphins team, he would flex his muscles in a mirror and kiss himself. Anyone who understands anything about anything knows he is at the epicenter of a dumster fire in Miami. Right now, he doesn’t “run” this defense anywhere but into the fuckin ground. The weird thing is that if he wanted to he could probably help this team win a few more games. He’s the best talent on the team, and with the right attitude he could take a team to the next level. But that requires accepting blame and pointing the finger at yourself sometimes. Sadly, Ndamukong Suh is a selfish scumbag and a shitty teammate who won’t ever win anything without a reality check.
PS – His dad’s first name being Michael is quite possibly the most interesting tidbit about Suh. It is so outrageous for a Mike to name his child Ndamukong.
PS2 – The Dolphins deserve zero success and I’m so happy for their current marriage to Suh.
