I Need New Friends Who Will Tell Me Krispy Kreme Is Giving Out Free Donuts

MarketWatch: April 28 is National Superhero Day! Celebrate the superhero within you and the superheroes who have inspired you with a sweet treat from Krispy Kreme. On April 28 only, buy a dozen doughnuts and get a dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts FREE at participating Krispy Kreme US and Canadian locations. “This year, we’ve added an exciting new layer to our annual National Superhero Day promotion,” says Dwayne Chambers, Chief Marketing Officer, Krispy Kreme. “Coupled with our one-day-only BOGO offer on our signature Original Glazed doughnuts, The Superhero Day sweepstakes is a fun way to engage and reward our fans with their favorite Krispy Kreme treats.” Doughnuts for Life prize is equivalent to one dozen doughnuts per month for thirty years.

Friends are supposed to be there for one another.  They celebrate the good times with you, pick you up when you’re down, and alert you when Krispy Kreme is giving away donuts.  Apparently I have ZERO friends.  These are the types of things everyone should be sharing with each other.  Bruce Jenner announces he’s a woman, and everyone’s talking about it.  Baltimore is in shambles, and everyone’s talking about it.  Krispy Kreme is giving away a dozen donuts and offering a lifetime supply of free donuts, and nobody says boo.  THIS is news.  Y’all are slacking.  These are the best donuts around, and we all lost out on a chance to get in on this sweet deal (you know I always intend the pun).  And you know what?  I would have shared them with you.  We could have enjoyed this TOGETHER, had you shared this news with me, you know, YESTERDAY.  How do you sleep at night?

I have a real heartfelt attachment to Krispy Kreme.  I went to Vegas with my family like 10-15 years ago, stayed at the Excalibur.  There was a Krispy Kreme shop in the hotel.  Our first few days we were still adjusting to the time difference, so we would wake up at 5am every day.  Turns out that 5am is when Krispy Kreme starts firing up their machines.  So we would watch the Krispy Kreme process start to finish: dough being rolled, donuts flipping in the oil, donuts going through a glaze waterfall.  And then the guy would let us eat donuts FO FREE, hot and fresh right off the conveyor belt.  You don’t know how good donuts can be until you’ve had them fresh off the conveyor belt at the Excalibur in Las Vegas at 5am.
