Location: Terrace Bagels, Freehold, NJ
Sunday at last! Another nice layer of snow blanketed the area last night, disrupting all sorts of social plans for me. But today is a new day, and I woke up determined to salvage what’s left of the weekend. A bacon egg and cheese has become a Sunday morning staple at this point, so what better place to try out than Terrace? It’s one of the most anticipated reviews of them all, as Terrace has been setting a high breakfast standard for years. My first trip there was strictly for a bagel, and today created an opportunity for Terrace to really prove themselves to me, with a simple yet elegant BEC sammy. A bit of a drive, it was well worth it.
The picture doesn’t do it justice to be honest. I was in a rush to eat, so I sacrificed my photography quality to fulfill my hunger. Double runny eggs with melted American cheese made for quite a mess, but not one I couldn’t handle. The meager supply of bacon and insufficient cook on said bacon are ground for some points being shaved off, but the crunch and saltiness still managed to bring the sandwich together. The bagel was a 10 out of 10, and any true sandwich aficionado knows that the bread is just as integral as what lies between the bread. Sandwich 101.
All in all, this sandwich really hit the spot. All elements of this little creation put together truly excited my taste buds. Terrace doesn’t mess around.
