How Weird Is Leaving Butter Out On The Counter At All Times?

butter

My family is far from normal. Just like anyone, I am embarrassed to be around most of them like 6 days out of the week, extended family included. But what I saw this weekend was one of the weirdest things these green eyes have every gazed upon. My aunt and uncle leave butter out, as in outside of the refrigerator, as in on the counter not being refrigerated. Like they just leave a stick of half-melted butter on a plate on the counter at all times. They don’t even cover it with anything it’s just out, totally exposed. Is that not the weirdest thing you’ve ever heard? That can’t be a real thing, can it? That has to be one of the most uncommon, disgusting things of all time.

I give everyone a fair shake most of the time. So before I overreacted I figured I would confront my uncle about it, maybe they just left it out by accident. Nope. It was fully intentional. He told me he wants to be able to spread the butter at all times. I will admit that trying to use a stick of butter to spread onto toast is borderline impossible. You could just take out the butter before you make the toast so it’s a little softer when it’s time to spread. There are a couple things out there that I don’t know much about. But my parents have raised me to be independent and intelligent enough to distinguish right from wrong. Leaving butter out on the counter is WRONG.

Who even uses a stick of butter anymore? Who even uses butter? I am Team Margarine and I am team captain.
