Seems like a silly question, doesn’t it? But if you really think about it, it’s not. I love popcorn, one of my favorite snacks. The more salt and butter the better. But one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much is because of the infrequency of my popcorn intake. I don’t make microwave popcorn very often, probably 3 times a year. I really like stadium popcorn, but A) I don’t go to that many games, B) I prefer beer, hotdogs, fries, and cotton candy to popcorn at games. Once in a while I will eat the Smartfood white cheddar popcorn. At work I make popcorn and I may take a few pieces, but it’s not even close to a serving. For the sake of this question, we won’t count the 4-6 pieces as an occurrence. The only thing that could drive the number up is when I go to the movies because if you don’t get popcorn at the movie theater you’re an imbecile and a bad person. As much as I enjoy going to the movies, I probably only go 4 times a year, maybe.
When I first asked this question to my friends, I had a number in my head and I thought they were gonna think it was way too low. Sure enough, their numbers were even lower than mine. Popcorn is a popular snack across the globe but is it though? Is it really all that popular? So I ask you again: how many times per year do you eat popcorn.
My number: 10-12.
